Basic Porridge Recipe For Anyone

Porridge is the perfect breakfast.

It can warm you up in the winter, and keep you full in the summer.

You can top it with your favourite berries or runny honey.  The list is endless!

There are so many varieties to making porridge, but this is a favourite of mine. It is completely safe for anyone and because it is made without milk there is no taste to get used to!



Serves 1


  • 40g gluten free rolled oats

  • 150ml water (just enough to cover the oats in the saucepan)

  • Pinch of salt - optional

  • Toppings (berries &/or honey)


  1. Place the oats in a small saucepan (add the salt if using) and cover with water.

  2. Put onto the stove and simmer for 5-8 minutes, until the mixture thickens.

  3. Keep stirring.

  4. Pour into a bowl and top with your desired toppings!
